COVID Safety Protocols

We must stress that the health and safety of our students and instructors remains, and always will be our top priority. Our COVID Safety Protocols supports all guidance provided by local and provincial authorities as well as meets the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) requirements.

Our COVID Safety Protocols are subject to change.

The following are the changes that will be in effect on Monday, September 20.

Starting September 20, we will be implementing the following option, which allows vaccinated students over the age of 18 to continue training. This also applies to anyone entering the building.

Proof of Vaccination Guidelines

  • Proof of vaccination

    • partial vaccination (one dose) accepted September 20 to October 25 if received 2 weeks before time of service

    • full vaccination (two doses) required after October 25

  • Proof of a privately-paid negative PCR or rapid test within 72 hours of service (tests from AHS or Alberta Precision Laboratories not allowed)

  • Documentation of a medical exemption

As per Alberta Health Guidelines; masking is now mandatory in all public spaces and workplaces.  Therefore, masks are required by all instructors, students and guests.

The specifics of sport and fitness masking guidance has not been provided at this time. The following is our understanding of the mask mandate until the province provides further details and are effective immediately:

  • Face masks are not required by students during training.

    • Please feel free to wear a mask if you feel more comfortable doing so. We would also ask during partner work that if one partner wants to wear a mask then the other student do so as well.

  • Face masks are not required by instructors that are actively participating in training.

  • Face masks are required by everyone off the training floor (i.e. enter or leave the building or use the washrooms).

  • Please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to class. Students that arrive after classes have begun might not be permitted to train as the door will be closed.

  • At approx. 5 minutes before the start of class, the instructor will give signal when it is time to come into the building (please do not come into the building until you are instructed to as cleaning and sanitizing will be completed between classes).

  • When entering the building, please be mindful of others and allow for adequate distance.

  • Students must wash or sanitize their hands prior to entering the training floor.

  • Do not attend class if you are sick or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

No Spectators

With the new restrictions and to allow for more space for students, there will be no spectators at this time. We understand that parents are eager to watch their children and to see how the class is run, however, we want to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our students and instructors.

If your child requires parent involvement, please contact us prior to the class to make arrangements.
